Ministry

Do you ever wonder why people get stuck in a cycle of poverty? I do. All. The. Time. The answer is complex, but what I know from personal experience is that emotional, mental and spiritual support play a big role in helping people break that cycle. What I know as a Christian, is that Jesus is our only hope and that God commands his people to share the hope of Christ with others.

I have always had a desire to use my gifts, abilities and experience to help others while making a difference in the lives of people around me. My passion is to bring hope to families living in poverty and low-income neighborhoods through education, encouragement and empowerment.

After spending a year in ministry training at Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, TN, God sent me to serve and live out my passion alongside the people of the Garfield Park neighborhood in Chicago, Il. I have joined the leadership team at Reborn Community Church in Chicago. My role will be to help launch an Urban Training Center that will train and equip men and women for effective church leadership in an urban setting and to develop community outreach opportunities that empower the community, through Reborn Ministries (the nonprofit arm of the church). Read the rest of the story here.

My prayer is that God would use me to be an agent of His love and restoration to a broken, hurting community. I desire to make an impact in my sphere of influence with the time I have here on earth.

Walking in faith!

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28: 19-20)

How you can help

Typically, the staff at a church is paid through the church’s operating budget, which comes from the money given by the congregation. Because Reborn is located in an urban area, the church does not have an operating budget large enough to pay staff…but the workers are still needed! Everyone who joins the leadership team is responsible to raise their salary through other means.

In order to work full-time as a local missionary, I need to link arms with others who are willing to partner with me through prayer and financial support.  Here is how you can help:

  • Commit to making a monthly, tax-deductible investment for 1-2 years.
  • Make a one-time, tax-deductible investment of any amount.
  • Pray for me, the Reborn Leadership Team and the Garfield Park community.
  • Share this opportunity with others who might want to hear about this ministry.
  • Volunteer to serve in areas of need at Reborn Ministries.
